The Antiquarian Book Shop:
A study in Corbusian Design

In a fictional neighborhood of Boston resides an empty lot with a row of three-story flat-roofed buildings on either side, a garden, and a raised walkway behind. The client wishes to open an antique book and map shop with a Corbusian partiality. This design proposes a three-story building of parallel bearing walls that transition into vaulted ceilings, with a double-height reading room whose large Palladian window bumps out over the garden on the south side for visual hierarchy and optimal light.
